Old Major- Old Major is a round character. We know many things about such as his appearance and his beliefs by what he talks about. He is a static character, because he dies at the beginning of the story and he doesn't get to see the revolution take place. George Orwell directly states in his book that, " He was twelve years old and had grown rather stout, but he was still a majestic-looking pig, with wise and benevolent appearance in spite the fact that his tusks had never been cut." George Orwell also stated that Old Major was " highly regarded"at the farm.

Snowball- Snowball is a round character, because we know what his appearance is and his type of personality is. Snowball is also a static character, because he doesn't change his goals, he is mainly focused on increasing the prosperity of Animal Farm. Orwell clearly states that," Snowball was a more vivacious pig than Napoleon, quicker in speech and more inventive, but was not considered to have the same depth of character." Snowball's physical appearance is not clearly stated, but his ideals are. For example, Orwell talks about Snowball designing the windmill for electricity.

Napoleon- Napoleon is a round and dynamic character, because we know a fair amount about him and he changes as the story continues. We know that Napoleon was " a large, rather fierce-looking Berkshire boar, the only Berkshire on the farm, not much of a talker, but with a reputation for getting his own way." Napoleon was always mainly focused on the main leader role. We can't really tell he is until he unleashes the hounds and takes over. Over time the absolute power takes over Napoleon and he becomes corrupt and falls away from the main goals of the revolution.

Squealer- Squealer is a flat and static character, because we know little about him and he doesn't really change. There is mainly two sentences talking about Squealer's physical appearance and personality. Orwell states, " The best known among them was a small fat pig named Squealer, with very round cheeks, twinkling eyes, nimble movements, and a shrill voice. He was a brilliant talker, when he was arguing some difficult point he had a way of skipping from side to side and whisking his tail which was somehow very persuasive." Squealer really doesn't have an opinion the whole time, but he sides with Napoleon and becomes his carrier.

Boxer- Boxer is a static and flat character in the story, because we don't know much about him and he doesn't seem to change much in the story. Orwell states that Boxer is a strong horse and he is able to do hard labor. Boxer doesn't really change his personality much. He remains fairly ignorant and he works hard for Napoleon until he hopes to retire, but is actually killed and silenced by the pigs.
